Aquarion Water Co. announced the start of its 2023 sprinkler irrigation schedule for Fairfield County.
The schedule will be in effect until Oct. 31 and is mandatory for customers in Darien, Fairfield, Greenwich, New Canaan, Newtown, Stamford and Westport. The 2023 program is voluntary for customers in Easton, Ridgefield, Trumbull, Weston and Wilton, although beginning in 2024 it will also become mandatory in those towns.
According to Aquarion, the schedule is designed to conserve water supplies by reducing overwatering of lawns and gardens through a maximum two days per week schedule.
The irrigation schedule requires properties with an address that ends in an even number or has no numerical identification to water on Sunday and Wednesday between either 12:01 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. or between 6:00 p.m. and midnight. Properties with an address that ends in an odd number can water on Saturday and Tuesday between either 12:01 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. or between 6:00 p.m. and midnight.
