The United Way of Westchester and Putnam located in White Plains is accepting grant proposals from nonprofits in Westchester and Putnam counties. The organization will be awarding grants up to $5,000 to nonprofits directly helping underprivileged populations, those who are employed but are living paycheck to paycheck, those who are displaced or those actively impacted by Covid-19.
Since the start of the pandemic, United Way of Westchester and Putnam has administered more than $1.7 million in grants to local nonprofits.
“The health and economic crisis created by the Covid-19 pandemic disproportionately affected the marginalized members of our society. The nonprofit community has been working tirelessly to respond to community needs and our United Way is committed to supporting their efforts,” said Tom Gabriel, United Way of Westchester and Putnam CEO.
The grant application is online at uwwp.org/covid-19-response-grant and the proposal submission deadline is 4 p.m. on Monday, May 24. United Way of Westchester and Putnam will disburse the grants in June 2021.
