John Golding was recently named retail-banking director for a newly created Tri-State region for First Niagara Financial Group, based in Nyack. Golding will provide leadership to First Niagara”™s branch network covering southern Connecticut and downstate New York and support the company”™s loan production efforts in New Jersey.
Most recently, Golding served as chief operating officer at Nova Bank in Pennsylvania. Previously, he served in a variety of leadership roles at Wachovia Bank. Golding has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from North Carolina Wesleyan College.
The Music Conservatory of Westchester, a nonprofit community school of the arts based in White Plains, recently made the following appointments.
Liz Garger, of Ossining, was named chief institutional advancement officer. She will be responsible for the design and implementation of the conservatory”™s diversified fundraising efforts, developing a major gifts strategy and campaign to support program expansion as well as new initiatives.
Most recently, Garger was senior vice president of resource development for United Way of Westchester and Putnam. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Pace University.
Rena Stein was named development associate. Previously, she was development associate for RxArt, a nonprofit dedicated to installing original museum-quality contemporary art in hospitals nationwide.
She is the co-founder of GoodyBags, a New York-based charity providing backpacks of items to children seeking safety from dangerous or unstable living conditions. Stein has a Bachelor of Science in fiber science and apparel design from Cornell University and a master”™s degree in social work from Yeshiva University.

Hudson Valley Bank, one of the largest independently owned commercial banks based in Westchester County, announced the following employees were promoted to branch area manager positions.
- Linda Carrington, first vice president and Mount Kisco branch manager, will oversee the Mount Kisco, Peekskill, Pleasantville and Elmsford branches.
- Moira Kiernan, first vice president and Central Avenue branch manager, will manage the Central Avenue and Church Street branches in White Plains.
- Rebecca Polanco, a vice president, will become area manager for the bank”™s Bronx branches, including Hutch Metro, Allerton, Tremont and the HUB and the bank”™s East Harlem Branch.
- Patrick Smith, first vice president and Mount Vernon branch manager, will serve as the area manager for Mount Vernon, New Rochelle, Mamaroneck, Eastchester and Port Chester branches.
- Gregory Sousa has been named Rockland area sales manager and will manage the bank”™s New City and Suffern branches, as well as coordinate all sales activity in Rockland County.

Raymond Beeler AIA, LEED AP, of Pelham, was recently named the 2013 American Institute of Architects New York State (AIANYS) president-elect.
Most recently, he served two terms as vice president, public advocacy and previously was a director on the AIANYS board of directors. He is past president of AIA Westchester + Hudson Valley Chapter and served on its board of directors. Beeler founded Raymond Beeler Architect in 1987. The firm merged in 2012 and is now Gallin Beeler Design Studio in Tarrytown.
