Bard College has hired Liza Parker as executive director of the Fisher Center, its performing arts venue.
Parker comes to Bard College from Lincoln Center, where she was chief operating officer. Earlier in her career, she was a partner with The Phillips Oppenheim Group, vice president of policy and administration at AT&T, and director of operations and planning at Manhattan”™s 92nd Street Y.
College President Leon Botstein said Parker “brings to Bard a depth and breadth of experience, and a commitment to making the Hudson Valley an international center for the arts, that is well suited to an institution that celebrates the significance of the arts through teaching and innovative professional performances.”
Bard College also promoted Gideon Lester to artistic director for the Fisher Center. Lester has been the artistic director for theater and dance at the Fisher Center since 2012, as well as professor of theater and performance and director of the college”™s undergraduate theater and performance program at Bard College.
