The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) will hold its 15 annual 5K Westchester/Rockland Walk4Hearing via Zoom videoconference on May 2.
Westchester/ Rockland”™s walk is part of a nationally coordinated effort of 20 HLAA walks. These charity events have two specific goals: To increase awareness of the causes and consequences of hearing loss, and to raise funds to provide critical programs and support services for the estimated forty eight million Americans ”“ or about 1 in 10 ”“ who suffer from hearing loss.
Pete Ruf of News12 sports will present some opening remarks along with Steve Wolfert, chair of the 2020 Walk, as well as other walkers, team captains, sponsors, and other participants. The walk will begin promptly at 10 a.m. via Zoom online video event and will be captioned for people with hearing loss. The one-hour program will feature interviews, historical footage, messages from participants, fun activities, and live feeds.
