Greenwich Hospital has announced the opening of the Yale Voice Center, Fairfield County”™s first specialty care practice for larynx treatments.
Michael Lerner, a fellowship-trained Yale Medicine laryngologist, will lead the practice, based at 55 Holly Hill Lane in Greenwich. The practice will provide treatment for traditional ear, nose and throat conditions, as well as highly specialized voice and swallowing care. Lerner also uses Botox treatments for several medical conditions including voice spasms and tremors, migraines and temporomandibular joint disorder.
The practice will also feature speech language pathologists specializing in voice and swallow therapies, and treatments will be available for patients experiencing problems based on overuse or misuse of the vocal cords during work, including entertainers, teachers and clergy.
“Having a dedicated voice and swallow team at one location allows us to evaluate patients the same day, which leads to improved communication and care planning,” Lerner said. “Patients benefit from treatments and specialty care which, until now, have not been available in Fairfield County.”
