Sarah Sedo graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Seton Hall University with plans to become a teacher. While working with underserved youth in her student teaching program she found her passion for social work. From there, she pursued her Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University and thereafter began her career as a clinician and then became a clinical supervisor. After working in community mental health and fee-for-service agencies, Sedo was drawn to the mission of Gilda”™s Club Westchester (GCW) in White Plains and the opportunity to provide free social and emotional support services, bringing her back to why she initially wanted to pursue a career in social work.
She envisions a bright future for GCW. with an expanded reach and more community awareness. Sedo believes that GCW is a “hidden gem” in the greater Westchester community.
