The village of Ellenville is ready for its close-up and seeking a place in the spotlight by seeking to be one of the localities to be featured on the upcoming HGTV series “Home Town Takeover.”
The new series, which is scheduled to air in 2021, will select six towns that will receive a HGTV-style makeover, both in public spaces and multiple individual homes. Localities were invited to submit videos highlighting their history and distinctive architecture, and Ellenville offered a 7-minute tour that has already generated more than 40,000 views on Facebook plus another 8,000 views on YouTube.
“We”™re fighters,” Ellenville Mayor Jeff Kaplan said. “With help from HGTV”™s ”˜Home Town Takeover”™ team, Ellenville is poised for an upswing on that roller coaster we”™ve experienced for more than 200 years. Ours is a true place of American history. Looking to the future, we”™re in it to win it.”
