Brendan P. Snowden, principal at Cummings & Lockwood has been appointed co-chair of the firm”™s commercial group. He succeeds Michael J. Hinton who served in that capacity for 19 years along with Joel Schechter, co-chair of the practice.
Based in the Stamford office, Snowden, a transactional lawyer, represents public and private companies, funds, governmental entities, family offices and high-net-worth individuals in a variety of commercial, corporate and finance matters. He has significant experience representing public and private companies in their debt and equity financings and high-net-worth individuals in their investments, both as minority investors and acquirers of businesses, including through mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and shareholder arrangements, private equity, start-up and angel investments and sponsor-like financings.
Proficient in Spanish, he has had experience in many cross-border transactions, particularly in Latin America.
Before joining Cummings & Lockwood, Snowden was an associate at Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP in New York City. He received his Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Middlebury College. He is admitted to practice law in Connecticut and New York.
