Jenean Castillo of The Westchester Institute for Human Development has been awarded the New York Medical College Diversity and Inclusion Award. Castillo is the diversity and inclusion coordinator at the institute and assistant director of its child welfare program. She also is assistant professor of practice in the Center on Disability and Health in the School of Health Sciences and Practice at the medical college.
The award was presented March 19 at the conclusion of a conference held at the college”™s Clinical Skills and Simulation Lab in Valhalla.
“Dr. Castillo has been committed to scholarly and programmatic work in the area of cultural competence diversity and equity since she first joined WIHD sixteen years ago as a post-doctoral fellow. Her subsequent local and national accomplishments attest to her qualifications for this award,” said institute President and CEO Susan Fox.
