The ninth annual Not-For-Profit Educational Summit will be held Nov. 16 at the Westchester Marriott Hotel in Tarrytown.
The theme of this year’s event, which kicks off at noon Monday, is “Defining your Organization’s Point of Difference.” Rina Kupferschmid-Rojas, director of social impact for the MasterCard Center for Inclusive Growth, will give the keynote speech.
The event will also feature several Westchester nonprofit leaders who will discuss strategies in helping organizations expand in the growing sector.
Speakers include Markham Rollins III, president of Brown & Brown of New York; Alisa Kesten, executive director of Volunteer New York; Renee Fogarty, director of learning and development at Hospitality Resource Group; Joanna Straub, executive director of NonProfit Westchester; Lenore Eggleston, director of development for the Westchester Philharmonic; and Lori Peterzell, senior director of corporate engagement at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The free event is sponsored by Entergy Corp., the Westchester County Business Journal, Westchester County, Hospitality Resource Group, Westchester Bank, Westchester Marriott, Corporate AV, Caperberry Events and Paraco Gas.
According to the umbrella organization NonProfit Westchester, Westchester’s private nonprofit sector is the largest industry in the county, employing 13.6 percent of the county’s total workforce and 16 percent of the county’s private-sector workforce.
