More than 250 guests gathered at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Jan. 20 to taste selections from 18 local restaurants and gourmet shops ”“ and support the White Plains Family YMCA. The event ”“ the White Plains Culinary Experience ”“ paired food with wines coordinated by Zachys of Scarsdale. The event raised more than $15,000 to support the Y”™s scholarships for child care and after-school programs.
“The support and success of the event underscore why this community is such a great place in which to live and work,” said Helene Mogridge, executive director of the White Plains Family YMCA.
Participating restaurants were Aberdeen, Bengal Tiger, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Emma”™s Ale House, Gervasi”™s, Graziella”™s, the Iron Tomato, Karamba Tropical Restaurant, Legal Seafood, Magnificent Edibles, Morton”™s The Steakhouse, Mulino”™s of Westchester, The Melting Pot, PF Chang”™s, Restaurant Blue, Sam”™s of Gedney Way, Tango Grill and Via Quadronno.

Jennifer Malone Seixas of Zachys created wine pairings showcasing more than 60 vineyards from Europe, the U.S., South America and Australia.
