The local nonprofit BronxWorks hosted a Thanksgiving Day Brunch for 60 to 70 Bronx-based seniors at the Carolyn McLaughlin Older Adult Center Thanksgiving morning for a grateful community gathering during the holiday season. The event featured both breakfast and lunch items, including a traditional Thanksgiving spread and cultural favorites like mangú. Brunch was served by BronxWorks staff and community volunteers, including those from Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
Stew Leonard III Water Safety Foundation, through its Yonkers’ store location, also donated selected food items (mashed potatoes, string beans, pies and more) as part of its growing partnership with BronxWorks. The Thanksgiving Day Brunch took place at the Carolyn McLaughlin Community Center, which is also home to BronxWorks renovated community pool where Stew Leonard III Water Safety Foundation supports BronxWorks learn-to-swim classes to ensure Bronx residents learn such a vital life skill.
