
Meadow Ridge, a continuing care retirement community in Redding, Connecticut, has appointed Kayla Todd to clinical liaison and Christian Gutierrez to transportation manager.

As a clinical liaison, Todd is responsible for ensuring a smooth transition for new skilled nursing, memory care and assisted living residents at the community, Joining the senior living industry more than seven years ago, she has gained a deep understanding of how to best serve the senior population. “To be in this role you have to lead everything you do with compassion and passion. Compassion for the residents, compassion for their loved ones, passion for the success of (the community) and a passion for helping others,” she said. Todd is completing her master’s degree in health-care administration at Western Connecticut State University.

In his role as transportation manager, Gutierrez is tasked with managing the community’s nine drivers and nine vehicles, as well as ensuring that the transportation needs for all residents are met. He grew up in the transportation industry, joining his father’s limousine company in 2011 and helping him grow the business. “Additionally, I worked as a transportation manager for a nonprofit organization supporting individuals with developmental challenges. In this role, I oversaw fleet safety, scheduling, maintenance, driver management and administrative tasks,” he said. Gutierrez holds an associate’s degree in applied science and served in the United States Marine Corp for four years.
