STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way, a 72-year-old Norwalk-based nonprofit serving neighbors whose lives are impacted by intellectual and developmental disabilities, recently announced that the first 100 days under the leadership of its new Executive Director MaryGrace Giuliano has been successful and impactful. The announcement was made by Meghan Cioffi, president of STAR Board of Directors. “The Search Committee was impressed with MaryGrace throughout the interview process and the entire board concurred that she is the right leader with all the competencies and compassion to preserve STAR’s legacy and to continue STAR’s successful rise into the future. During this period, MaryGrace has demonstrated exceptional dedication and vision, steering the organization toward new heights and reinforcing our commitment to our mission.”
Giuliano’s key achievements in the first 100 days included program development, financial health, community engagement, team development and outreach, advocacy and awareness.

STAR, Inc. Lighting the Way is a not-for-profit organization that has grown to include a full array of services for more than 600 individuals with disabilities, from birth to their senior years, and their families in Fairfield County, Cconnecticut. STAR’s mission is to create opportunities for individuals to live full lives with independence, freedom of choice and personal growth by providing person-centered support, services and advocacy.
