The Hudson Gateway Realtor® Foundation, White Plains, the charitable arm of the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors®, recently presented a check for $2,000 to Meals on Main Street, based in Port Chester and serving Westchester County.
Offering a combination of custom-designed mobile pantry trucks and portable food hubs, Meals on Main Street brings its mobile pantry trucks to neighborhoods each week. It also supplements the work of Westchester County pantries and soup kitchens to deliver recovered food and farm-fresh produce to families in need where they live.
In addition to access to the pantry trucks, each week 200 families, homebound due to illness or age, receive home deliveries of a variety of groceries, fresh produce and prepared meals. “The donation will be applied to Meals on Meal Street’s “Fill-A-Plate” campaign, whose goal is to provide 1 million meals over the next 12 months,” said Pat Hart, Meals on Main Street treasurer.
Since 2014, the Hudson Gateway Realtor Foundation has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to charities and nonprofits throughout the Hudson Valley. As concerned members of the communities the Hudson Gateway Realtor® Foundation participates in qualified community-based charities that serve the housing, hunger, health, happiness and humane needs of citizens everywhere.
