With winter around the corner the United Way of Westchester and Putnam wants to make sure that families are prepared.
In partnership with the Westchester Library System, the United Way is collecting gently used or new coats, as well as new hats, gloves and socks to distribute to those in need throughout Westchester County.
“With the support of our generous community, we can make a significant impact on the lives of individuals and families facing cold weather without adequate protection. You can participate in this crucial initiative by donating winter items, or spreading the word about our drive,’’ said United Way CEO Tom Gabriel.
The drive will be held from now to Oct. 21. Donations can be dropped at participating libraries across Westchester County during regular library hours
Drop-off locations include:
Ardsley Public Library, Greenburgh Public Library, Hastings-on-Hudson Public Library, John C. Hart Memorial Library (Yorktown); Larchmont Public Library, Lewisboro Library, Mamaroneck Public Library District, Mount Kisco Public Library, Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library, Pound Ridge Library District, Ruth Keeler Memorial Library (North Salem), The Field Library in Peekskill, Tuckahoe Public Library, and the town of Pelham Public Library.
