The Westchester County Youth Bureau extended the reach of the Westchester County Department of Social Services’ (DSS) annual Holiday Gift Drive with an additional gift. Jointly with the Westchester County Youth Board, the Westchester County Youth Empowerment Council for Change (YECC) and local My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) partner organizations, the Youth Bureau delivered hundreds of additional presents to DSS to be enjoyed by kids who needed it most this holiday season.
Westchester Deputy County Executive Ken Jenkins said, “What could be better than to have more gifts to share and to bring joy to a greater number of Westchester’s children? I applaud the efforts of our Youth Bureau, Youth Board, Youth Empowerment Council for Change and all the MBK chapters for coordinating with DSS and delivering on their promise to make this the best holiday season yet for our kids who so deserve a lift at this time of year.”
Spearheaded by the Youth Bureau’s newly appointed Executive Director Ernest McFadden, it was the first and highly successful collaboration of the Youth Bureau with DSS in the almost 20-year history of the Holiday Gift Drive.
