More than 500 friends and supporters of Saint Joseph’s Medical Center in Yonkers turned out for the Annual Ball to celebrate the evening’s honorees and pay tribute to the hospital’s extraordinary journey of renewal, expansion and groundbreaking innovation. Honorees included orthopedic surgeons David E. Lent, M.D., FAAOS and Eric Spencer, M.D., FAAOS.
“Drs. Lent and Spencer have been members of our medical staff for over 20 years and joined St. Joseph’s Medical Practice in 2023. During that time, their dedication, expertise and innovative spirit have not only advanced the field of orthopedic surgery at Saint Joseph’s but have also significantly enhanced the lives of countless patients in our community,” said Saint Joseph’s Medical Center President and CEO Michael J. Spicer. “Their commitment to providing the highest standard of care is evident in every aspect of their practice. They bring a wealth of knowledge, skill, and compassion to their patients, ensuring that each individual receives personalized and compassionate care. Their leadership and expertise in the area of advanced technology is a testament to their vision and commitment to pushing the boundaries of excellence in orthopedic surgery,” he added.
The hospital also honored New York Medical College, which became the university affiliate of Saint Joseph’s Family Practice Residency Program in 1998. The expertise and dedication of the faculty and staff of New York Medical College have been instrumental in enhancing the quality of care provided by the program. Dr. Neil Schluger, dean of the New York Medical College School of Medicine, was presented with the award.
The gala celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the hospital’s Family Practice Residency Program.
