United Hebrew, a leading senior living community in Westchester, marked a significant milestone in its history at its 105th Anniversary Gala, held May 29 at the Glen Island Harbor Club in New Rochelle. The evening unveiled a new brand identity, reflecting United Hebrew’s commitment to evolving alongside the needs of seniors in the region, and honored longtime leader Rita Mabli for her 45+ years of exceptional service to older adults in Westchester.
Mabli has been a trailblazer in eldercare, spearheading the growth and transformation of United Hebrew’s award-winning campus. Under her leadership, United Hebrew has expanded to include assisted living, memory care and affordable living facilities, along with short-term rehabilitation, long-term care and home care services, addressing the critical needs of the region’s growing, aging population. She has received dozens of local, regional and national recognitions for her leadership of United Hebrew, recognized as one of the nation’s best eldercare communities.
Local officials, board members, staff, and residents paid a series of tributes to Mabli throughout the evening. “Rita has lived a life dedicated to the loving care of the elderly. She’s inspired an entire campus of caregivers to dedicate their lives to the same vocation,” said James Staudt, senior board chair and partner, McCullough, Goldberger & Staudt LLP. Rosemary McLaughlin, board chair and senior vice president and group director, Flagstar Bank, said, “Rita has always been ahead of the curve. She anticipates the needs of seniors and finds ways to meet them. She’s managed to accomplish so much – with grace, compassion and a positive outlook.”
United Hebrew’s new tagline, ‘Where Seniors Thrive,’ underscores its dedication to fostering a vibrant, engaging environment that empowers residents to live life to the fullest. It also positions United Hebrew as a model for integrative senior living, prioritizing well-being and a sense of community.
‘Where Seniors Thrive,’ represents a shift from traditional senior care to a model focused on living and longevity,” said Mabli in introducing the new look. “This fresh identity better communicates our mission to residents, their families and the community, and emphasizes the opportunities for growth, connection and purpose that we offer our residents.”
The new logo symbolizes the unity and support that are central to the United Hebrew experience. The design features a conjoined ‘U’ and ‘H,’ representing both the organization’s initials and the idea of individuals coming together. The introduction of orange as an accent color evokes warmth and the promise of new beginnings. Unifying all its lines of business under the United Hebrew brand strengthens the organization’s presence in the community and simplifies communication for residents, families, and partners.
The brand refresh is part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence. Mabli said, “By embracing new technologies and fostering a forward-thinking approach, we ensure United Hebrew remains at the forefront of senior care, empowering residents to thrive for generations to come.”
