NBC Sports has announced that its NBCSN cable network will cease offering programming after Dec. 31.
The Stamford broadcaster is shifting its NBCSN line-up to USA Network, beginning with a Premier League tripleheader starting at 7:00 am on Jan. 1. While other NBC platforms, including CNBC and the Peacock streaming service, will also receive increased sport programming, USA will inherit the bulk of NBCSN”™s offerings including coverage of the 2022 Winter Olympics, NASCAR and college sports.
“We are excited to transition the cable coverage of many of our premium sports events to USA Network, Peacock, and other widely-distributed NBCUniversal platforms, which will give us a significant boost in television homes and will put us in an even stronger position as we grow our business,” said Pete Bevacqua, chairman of NBC Sports.
Beginning on Jan. 1, NBCSN will display a slate that informs viewers where to find its previous programming. NBC Sports added there will be marketing and social media campaigns altering viewers of the change.
