Hudson-Westchester Radio has sold its New Rochelle-based WVIP 93.5-FM radio station to the Texas-based Hope Media Group for $8.15 million.
According to coverage from the broadcasting trade journal Radio + Television Business Report, WVIP”™s signal reaches lower Westchester, Bronx, Queens, Nassau County”™s north shore and Bergen County, New Jersey. The programming is aimed at the regional Caribbean community.
Hope Media Group is a religious broadcaster that operates the Christian AC Way FM network and the Spanish-language Vida Unida network. The station”™s new owner did not state whether it would keep or change WVIP”™s programming focus.
Hudson-Westchester Radio is retaining ownership of another New Rochelle-based station, WVOX-AM.
