Rye Brook-based Xylem Inc. has won a contract to manufacture submersible pumps as well as monitoring and control systems to Europe”™s largest wastewater treatment plant.
Located outside Paris, the Achères Seine Aval wastewater treatment plant treats about 1.5 million cubic meters of wastewater in the Paris region every day.
The municipal authority that manages the city”™s urban wastewater treatment facilities has undertaken a development program to expand the existing biofiltration units and build a new membrane treatment line in the plant. The system upgrades are necessary to meet the requirements of the European Water Directives, which set objectives and standards for future water protection in Europe.
The first deliveries of pumps and controls will begin in March, and the upgraded works are scheduled to be completed by July 2018.
