Xylem Inc., a Rye Brook-based manufacturer of water handling equipment, announced it has agreed to sell Wolverhampton, U.K.-based valve manufacturing subsidiary Xylem Flow Control Ltd. to Rotork P.L.C. for approximately $25 million.
“This sale enables us to focus more sharply on our strategic core businesses and our strengths as a water technology focused company,” said Patrick Decker, president and CEO of Xylem, in a statement.
Xylem Flow Control provides pneumatic and hydraulic valves and related products to equipment manufacturers, primarily in the oil and gas sector. According to a Xylem press release, the valves business reported $25 million in sales in 2013.
