The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has named Moraima Gutierrez as deputy district director for the SBA Connecticut District Office.
In her new job, Gutierrez joins District Director Catherine Marx in overseeing SBA programs available to the 360,000 small businesses throughout Connecticut and in the supervision of the team that supports more than $300 million in traditional SBA loans annually to Connecticut small business owners.
Gutierrez joined the SBA in 2009 as an economic development specialist and was most recently assistant district director for economic development and media relations. Prior to the SBA, Gutierrez was a station manager for Telemundo Connecticut/WRDM, the first Spanish language television station in New England.
“Moraima brings extensive knowledge of SBA programs to the DDD leadership position and is respected by SBA lenders, our resource partner network and State of Connecticut stakeholders,” said Marx. “Moraima will join me in a leadership role as we remain singularly focused on the SBA mission ”“ to help Americans start, grow, and build resilient businesses.”
