Just in time for trick-or-treating, WalletHub released its 2023’s Best Places for Halloween report.
For this survey, WalletHub compared the 100 largest U.S. cities across 20 key metrics ranging from candy and chocolate stores per capita to Halloween party supplies stores per capita to share of potential trick-or-treat stops. The survey determined New York City is the top Halloween metro – followed in the top five by Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami and Jersey City.
WalletHub is also projecting this year’s Halloween festivities will generate $12.2 billion in holiday spending, with $4.1 billion being spent on costumes and $3.6 billion on candy. And the trick-or-treat collection is hardly a kids-only bounty – 60% of parents acknowledge helping themselves to their children’s Halloween haul.
