PickleRage, a new 42,000-square-foot indoor pickleball facility in the heart of downtown New Rochelle, debuted with a VIP preview event on March 25 and a special weekend promotion on March 28- 29 where nearly 1,000 people played pickleball for free.
The venue, located at 173 Huguenot St., is the first PickleRage facility in Westchester County and in New York State. It is owned and operated by franchisees Brian Snyder and Henry Sztul and was developed by the Cappelli Organization.
PickleRage features 13 regulation-size courts with CushionX surfaces, LED lighting, locker rooms with showers, and video recording and livestreaming capabilities. Additional amenities include a player’s lounge, and a pro shop with retail displays, a gear fitting area, and demo equipment. In addition to pickleball, the facility also offers three Full Swing golf simulators, the same used by TGL as seen on ESPN.
“There were several pickleball companies that were interested in occupying this space,” said Bruce Berg, CEO of Cappelli Development. “After meeting with several different operators, we chose PickleRage because of their expertise and local market knowledge and presence. They are fantastic and we’re very excited to have them here.”
Sztul is happy for his business to be a part of downtown New Rochelle.
“We’re thrilled to be a part of New Rochelle’s continued downtown growth and bring our passion for pickleball to Westchester,” Sztul said. “Pickleball provides a really great way to stay active and meet people.”
Founded in 2023, PickleRage was founded by a group of pickleball enthusiasts who saw a need for dedicated indoor facilities where players could enjoy the sport year-round.
