Matthew T. Fairley, an associate at Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott L.L.C.”™s White Plains law firm, was recently elected as an at-large member of the board of directors of Georgetown University Alumni Philodemica, the alumni association for Georgetown University”™s Philodemic Society, the nation”™s oldest collegiate debating society.
The Alumni Philodemica is dedicated to ensuring the welfare of the society through capital improvements to the historic Philodemic Room, provision of academic awards and medals, as well as mentoring and other educational opportunities.
Mount Vernon Hospital (MVH) was recently awarded a five-year $500,000 federal grant through the Department of Health and Human Services ”“ Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The hospital was one of only 52 nonprofits in the U.S. to receive this highly competitive grant.
MVH will now build on its original five-year grant that established its health intervention and prevention program (HIIP), a program that integrates medical case management and treatment adherence services for HIV/AIDS clinics at both MVH and Sound Shore Medical Center. With this new grant, HIIP will expand its current program to address Hepatitis C in this at-risk population.
