There’s a lot happening at the Delamar Hotels, which include locations in Greenwich, Southport and West Hartford, with more hotels coming this fall.
First things first: L’escale – the restaurant where all of Greenwich (and its neighboring communities) likes to dine, throw a party or just hang out – has just reopened, adding breakfast to its brunch, lunch and dinner offerings.
The contemporary Mediterranean restaurant, with a décor to match overlooking Greenwich Harbor, celebrates tonight – Thursday, March 7th – with a Champagne Leclerc Briant dinner for $185 per person. See the menu here. Yum.
Speaking of menus, the Artisan restaurants at the Southport and West Hartford locales will once more offer their Voyage series of menus.
Week one takes you to Hungary for goulash, Chicken Paprikash and Emperor’s Crumb Cake.
Week two, you’re off to the Caribbean for Curried Goat, Conch Fritters and Rum-Infused Cake.
Week three, set sail for Greece and Moussaka, Traditional Spanakopita and Baklava.
Finish up on week four in Spain with paella, gazpacho and Churros con Chocolate.
Meanwhile, the new Delamar Southport Spa has teamed with on-site naturopathic physician Brian Uss, ND, PT, and Caroline Mazza, MSPT, of USS Wellness and Functional Medicine for a Brian Optimization and Wellness Package that explores the mind-body connection and includes a 90-minute Detox Body Wrap. (And don’t forget that another feature of the spas at the Greenwich, Southport and West Hartford locations is the availability of afternoon tea.)
The Delamars are also all about the art that graces their walls. The Delamar West Hartford has welcomed its first artist-in-residence, Ellen Carey – an educator, independent scholar, guest curator and photographer with an unusual approach to lens-based art and a track record of 70 solo shows in diverse settings.
To mark this partnership, the Delamar has put together “See What Develops with Ellen Carey.” The package extends beyond the hotel stay and a Champagne welcome by executive chef Frederic Kieffer that includes one of his culinary creations to include complimentary entry to the New Britain Museum of American Art, showcasing Carey’s “Struck by Light” exhibit. The highlight of the retreat involves an intimate gathering with Ellen Carey for Cocktails & Conversation, featuring a Polaroid tips session. This leads up to the Palette to Palate Dinner, a specially crafted prix-fixe menu at the hotel’s Artisan restaurant, inspired by Carey’s artworks.
For those who like to vroom, the three Delamars will again offer chauffeured classic-car picnic experiences in which guests can enjoy a scenic ride through Connecticut’s countryside in a car from founding CEO Charles Mallory’s personal collection, accompanied by a picnic curated by Kieffer. Vintage cars include a 1941 Cadillac Series 60 Special Fleetwood, a 1962 Imperial Crown and a 1937 Packard 12 Limousine Berline, as well as modern cars such as a Rolls Royce Phantom 7 Drophead Coupe and a Bentley Continental Flying Spur.
Prefer the sea? Starting in May, the Delamar Greenwich Harbor will be offering its private yachting experiences, accompanied by Kieffer’s yacht-inspired menu.
Then get set for the opening of the Delamar Mystic at the end of the summer, with the Delamar Westport to follow in the fall. The Delamar Mystic is a natural for Mallory, whose family traces its roots in this country from 1816 Mystic.
We’re hoping for a Mystic-al experience.
