Friedland Realty Advisors has named Sarah Jones-Maturo, a former commercial office broker at CBRE Group Inc. in New Jersey, as president of the company.
Jones-Maturo, who has spent her 10-year career at CBRE, most recently as first vice president in its Saddle Brook, N.J., office, will oversee day-to-day operations at Friedland Realty with a particular focus on recruiting and internal training efforts, the company announced. She will work beside Robert Friedland, founder and CEO of the 45-year-commerical realty firm, at its Harrison headquarters.
Friedland had served as both president and CEO after stepping back into the posts following the departure last spring of Ayall Schanzer after one year as head of the company. Under Schanzer”™s leadership, Friedland Realty last spring moved its headquarters 440 Mamaroneck Ave. from its longtime home on Central Avenue in Yonkers.
The company last month announced that Robert Martin Co., the real estate investment, development and management company headquartered in Elmsford, had acquired a significant ownership stake in Friedland Realty. The two companies will continue to operate separately.
Jones-Maturo in the announcement said she is “eager to help enhance the company”™s strong brand throughout the tri-state area and look forward to building on our current strengths in all divisions and markets.”
At CBRE, Jones-Maturo represented clients such as Sprint, Sony, Dow Jones and Aeropostale. In 2014 and 2015 alone, she brokered deals for more than 1 million square feet of office space, according to Friedland Realty. Last year, the graduate of the College of Holy Cross was recognized as one of “Tomorrow”™s Leaders” by Real Estate Forum.
Friedland said Jones-Maturo”™s “extensive background in office services as well as leadership and business development acumen will be a true asset to the continued growth of the firm.”
