Partsearch Technologies Inc. is staying put.
The company has signed a five-year lease to retain its call center facilities at Tech City in Kingston, keeping its 167 jobs in Ulster County, according to company President Gary Kazmer, who said the company had been considering moving its facilities out of state.
The company markets original replacement parts and accessories for consumer electronics, cell phones, computers and appliances. Â
“We have signed a five-year lease and will be staying in New York and Ulster County for the foreseeable future,” said Kazmer, who credited Lance Matteson, CEO of the Ulster County Development Corporation, for efforts at retaining the company.
“We”™re very pleased to have contributed what Mr. Kazmer terms as ”˜a significant involvement”™ of the UCDC in their decision to retain jobs in Ulster County,” Matteson said, adding there is a chance that the company will hire additional workers in coming months. He said that the vast majority of these jobs pay well above the area”™s median wage.
Matteson said that the New York Empire State Development Corporation, the Kingston-Ulster Empire Zone and especially Tech City itself were “crucial partners in securing this project.” The high-tech business model of Partsearch conforms with the formal economic development goals of both the town of Ulster and the county”™s Ulster Tomorrow economic plan.
