Pine Island Herb & Spice is on the move ”“ and this time it”™s to bigger and better quarters.
The 20-year-old company, which Eileen Piasecki-Couch started in her Pine Island home and quickly ran out of space, moved her operation to outside quarters three years ago. Unfortunately, she had no true storefront presence for customers.
Over the past three years, Pine Island Herb and Spice products have made it to the shelves of grocery chains ”“ specifically in ShopRite and in Warwick”™s Price Chopper, which opened in 2010.
“Not only are our products offered in more locations, we have added to our line as well,” Piasecki-Couch said. Most recently, she introduced sugar-free and gluten-free all natural gourmet herbs and spices, soups and dips.
“Our proprietary recipes have always provided cooks with healthy, all natural choices that are all salt- and sugar-free. As consumers have become more health conscious, they are increasingly drawn to the kind of products we provide,” Piasecki-Couch said. “It enables cooks to make healthy choices that are tasty and convenient.”
Because the variety of herb and spice mixtures she offers has grown, Piasecki-Couch needed more space to accommodate her business ”“ no small accomplishment, considering her company grew during the Crash of 2008 and the Great Recession. Her new location offers her 1,800 square feet on Route 17A in Goshen, leaving space for a showroom, along with an expanded production space and storage area.
Pine Island Herb & Spice”™s all natural dips, soups, sauces, rubs, seasoning blends are available at a selection of retail venues around the Hudson Valley and can be found online at pineislandherb.com.
