Since the Google street-view video maps are so popular, the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce asks: Why not take the show inside?
The chamber has entered a marketing alliance with Google-certified photographers to bring Google Maps “Street View” inside members’ businesses.
The 360-degree photographic tour of any establishment provides the public the opportunity to experience local businesses directly from a Google search.
The chamber will introduce the program today at The Bocuse Restaurant on the campus of The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park.
Attendees can meet with Google-certified program coordinators as well as see examples of a finished tour and gain familiarity with the equipment used to document inside spaces from all angles.
“Businesses that engage this powerful marketing tool will benefit with a tremendous visual enhancement in their Google Search presence, Google Maps, and on their Google+ Local page,” the chamber said in a press release. “Viewers on any device ”“ desktop, laptop, tablet and smartphone ”“ will easily find your business and be able to take a virtual walk inside to look around. They can see 360-degree panoramic images from multiple points; zoom in on products, displays and signage while getting a true feel for the decor and ambiance of your space.”
The Google virtual tour is easily embedded onto a website and Facebook page, the chamber said.
