Commuters crossing the Hudson River won’t take a soaking in 2014.
State Thruway Authority spokesman Daniel Weiller said tolls on the Tappan Zee Bridge will not increase next year, when construction of a new replacement bridge is expected to be in full swing
Weiller said the state soon  will announce members of a toll/financing task force after the Thruway Authority develops a financial plan and the federal government gives final approval of an expected $1.5 billion low-interest loan for bridge construction.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo previously recommended the creation of a panel to look at possible toll increases. Larry Schwartz, an aide to Cuomo, has said toll prices might reach $14 to fund the construction.
Crossing the bridge from Rockland County to Westchester County costs $5, though cheaper with E-ZPass.
