Mark Lynch is stepping down as chief executive officer of the New York Independent System Operator, which oversees the state”™s wholesale energy market and 10,800-mile grid of high-voltage lines.
Lynch plans to resign by next February; NYISO did not immediately name a successor, but the Rensselaer non-profit organization has hired executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles to identify one.
Lynch became NYISO”™s second CEO in March 2005, replacing Bill Museler. Previously Lynch was president of Mirant Corp.”™s New York and New England operations.
