New assistant manager
BERNADETTE FELTZ has been promoted to assistant manager at Ulster Savings Bank, 226 Main St., New Paltz. Feltz, a High Falls resident, has been with the bank since 2009 serving as supervisor at the New Paltz branch prior to her promotion. She will maintain oversight of branch staff and assist in business development efforts.
Feltz earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from SUNY Geneseo and a Master of Science degree in literacy from Adelphi University. She is currently pursuing a financial services management diploma from the Center for Financial Training, a leading banker education and training system in the eastern U.S.
An active member of the New Paltz community, Feltz”™s volunteer efforts include working with the New Paltz Regional Chamber of Commerce events.
Rewarding philanthropic efforts
THE MID-HUDSON VALLEY CHAPTER OF THE ASSOCIATION OF FUNDRAISING PROFESSIONALS (AFP) in Poughkeepsie named six individuals and companies from the mid-Hudson Valley that embody the spirit of philanthropy for their exceptional efforts and giving on behalf of worthy causes throughout the region. The six honorees received their awards during the region”™s 7th annual National Philanthropy Day event Friday Nov. 15, at the Villa Borghese in Wappingers Falls. Broker earns recognition
BARBARA CARTER, an associate broker at Quinn Realty Group, 550 Route 299 in Highland, has earned certification from a national real estate association for her expertise in marketing real estate through social media and technology. Recently awarded the e-Pro Certification by the National Association of Realtors (NAR), Carter joins more than 30,000 real estate professionals who have completed NAR”™s certification program. The knowledge she gained “enables Barbara to expand her technology skills, helping her connect with consumers online via social media, email marketing and web site promotion,” said John Quinn, president of Quinn Realty.
Med center receives award
ORANGE REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER in Middletown was recently recognized by the National Research Corp. (NRC) with its 2013 Path to Excellence Award for most improved hospital with 300 beds or more at its 19th annual International Patient-Centered Care Symposium in Baltimore, Md. Orange Regional was one of two hospitals selected nationally for its commitment to improving the patient experience. The award is based on voluntary patient responses to the Hospital Care Quality Information from the Consumer Perspective Survey provided to patients after discharge. Orange Regional patients rated the hospital very high in their overall patient experience.

Hospital center adds four
PUTNAM HOSPITAL CENTER BOARD OF DIRECTORS recently approved the appointment of four new members to the Carmel hospital”™s medical staff. They are hematologist/oncologist BRIAN MARC ELLIOTT; emergency medicine physician assistant ADAM P. HUCHITAL; radiation oncologist ROBERT J. SMITH; and infectious disease specialist JOSHUA VERNATTER.
Elliott of Bronxville is affiliated with Mount Kisco Medical Group, received his medical degree from Duke University and his postdoctoral training included an internship and residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center and oncology/hematology fellowships at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Elliott is board certified in internal medicine.
Huchital of Highland, who is affiliated with EOS Medical Group, received his Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Albany and his master”™s degree in health science and physician assistant degree from Weill Medical College, Cornell University. He is a board-certified physician assistant.
Smith of Delmar, who is affiliated with Mid Hudson Valley Radiation Oncology Associates, received his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. His postdoctoral training included an internship in internal medicine and a residency in radiation oncology at Yale University Hospital. Dr. Smith is board certified in radiation oncology.
Infectious disease specialist Vernatter of the Bronx is affiliated with Hudson Infectious Disease Associates, received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His postdoctoral training included an internship and residency in internal medicine at Long Island Jewish Medicine Center, a fellowship in infectious diseases at Montefiore Medical Center and a research fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Vernatter is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases.
Ulster Savings names new exec
ULSTER SAVINGS BANK recently promoted GREGG JOCELYN ”“ who has been with the bank since 1992 ”“ to assistant vice president/information technology officer at the bank”™s 180 Schwenk Drive, Kingston headquarters. A resident of Port Ewen, Jocelyn previously served as Ulster Savings Bank”™s systems officer. As part of his new position, his responsibilities will include management of the bank”™s information technology infrastructure, business continuity and technology initiatives throughout the organization.
A 2005 graduate of the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Fairfield University in Connecticut, Jocelyn is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in global professional studies with concentrations in information technology, leadership and global perspectives from Marist College in Poughkeepsie. He maintains professional affiliations with CDW and PAETEC, where he serves on their client advisory boards.
