Beginning in the fall, The College of New Rochelle will offer its Master”™s in Public Administration program at John S. Burke Catholic High School in Goshen.
The schools created the partnership to offer college degree program opportunities to communities in Orange County.
“We are thankful for this opportunity to expand the reach of our school to serve our broader community in partnership with The College of New Rochelle to help aspiring students attain an advanced degree,” said John Dolan, principal of Burke Catholic High School, in a statement released by the college. “This co-sponsored program represents the first of its kind in Orange County.”
Malcolm Oliver, a public administration professor, chairs the master”™s program, a 36-credit multidisciplinary curriculum. According to the statement, the program provides theoretical background, practical experience and training relevant to a professional career in public service. Topics include management and leadership, organizational theory, public policy formulation, communications theory, human resource management, budgeting and finance and program evaluation.
An information session about the MPA program will be held at 6 p.m. April 16 at the high school, 80 Fletcher St. in Goshen.
