Cabela”™s, the sporting good giant, announced plans to build a 90,000-square-foot store in Orange County near the Woodbury Common outlets that will open in 2016.
Cabela”™s Inc., which sells hunting and fishing gear and equipment, said construction of the Woodbury store will begin in 2015 at Averhill Avenue near the intersection of highways 6 and 17. The store will be the second Cabela”™s in the state, with an 88,000-square-foot location set to open in Cheetowaga this fall.
CEO Tommy Millner said, “Woodbury will be a great location for Cabela”™s and our customers in the Northeast.” The company said the new store would bring 170 jobs to the region.
Nebraska-based Cabela”™s is also known for its catalogs and mail order service. The company’s retail stores have a distinct log and stone exterior.
