The New York Group for Plastic Surgery, with offices in Tarrytown and Cortlandt Manor, has joined the department of surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. The practice, which specializes in reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgeries, has been renamed Mount Sinai Doctors New York Group for Plastic Surgery.
Dr. C. Andrew Salzberg, who led NYGPS, was named director of integrated plastic surgery services at the Mount Sinai Health System, officials at the New York City academic hospital said in a press release. He will be joined by practice partners Dr. R. Michael Koch and Dr. Jordan M.S. Jacobs.
“A surgeon”™s skill in reconstruction, coupled with their genuine desire to help patients, are qualities that drive excellence in patient care,” said Dr. Michael L. Marin, surgeon-in-chief for the Mount Sinai Health System, in a press release. “The addition of the New York Group for Plastic Surgery”™s expertise and distinct services keeps Mount Sinai at the forefront of plastic surgery.”
Dr. Salzberg in the announcement said the Mount Sinai Health System”™s resources and reputation will help the surgical group provide top care to the women seeking their services. “Our patients travel from across the country and from round the world for our expertise in breast reconstruction following mastectomy for breast cancer treatment, or prevention due to high risk, and we can now offer our surgery right in the heart of Manhattan,” he said.
Plastic surgery patients are treated at Mount Sinai”™s ambulatory surgery facility at 5 E. 98th St. in Manhattan. Practice group physicians also continue to treat patients at their surgical offices in Tarrytown, Cortlandt Manor and Goshen.
