Nyack Hospital has won New York-Presbyterian”™s Quality Symposium Award for the second year in a row.
Its submission, “Change in Triage Process Using Lean Methodology,” described the ways to significantly reduce waiting time and improve patient satisfaction in the hospital”™s emergency department. The Quality Symposium Award recognizes an organization’s commitment to quality innovation in patient care. Winners are selected from entries evaluated by a panel of judges from New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System, Healthcare Association of New York State, the New York Chapter of the American College of Physicians, and the Northern Metropolitan Hospital Association.
The hospital also introduced ExpressCare. Designed for patients with minor injuries or illnesses, ExpressCare is open from 9 a.m.-1 a.m., 7 days a week. In addition to the seven-room unit, ExpressCare features an orthopedic room, suture room, ophthalmology room and OB/GYN suite to treat patients coming to Nyack Hospital for emergency care.
