Big brother is watching in the new 11-bed intensive-care unit at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla and that”™s not a bad thing.

The new unit features large, single-occupancy rooms equipped with the latest technology and a modern décor, including earth tones and flat-screen TVs.
A video system allows nurses and staff to monitor patients 24/7 using closed-circuit cameras placed above each bed.

Also, students from the Hendrick Hudson Leos Club, a school-affiliated service organization sponsored by the Hendrick Hudson Lions Club, presented a $30,000 check to Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center, the hospital reported. The club raised the money during the past year through fundraising events including a Stay-Awake-Athon held in May at Hendrick Hudson High School in Montrose.
