Joel Seligman, president and CEO of Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, has been elected treasurer of the Healthcare Association of New York State, a nonprofit advocacy group that represents 500 nonprofit and public hospitals, nursing homes, home care agencies and other health care organizations.
Seligman, a member of the Rensselaer-based association”™s board of governors, will serve as treasurer through 2014. He has led the Mount Kisco hospital since 2001.
Seligman also holds a faculty post at the New York Medical College School of Public Health and is chairman of the Northern Metropolitan Hospital Association. For his service to the community and health care industry, he has been honored with the Visiting Nurse Association of Hudson Valley”™s Ellen Wood Health Care Award in 2004, as Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 2005 and as the American Diabetes Association”™s Father of the Year in 2007.
