Joseph J. Guarracino, who has more than 25 years of experience managing the finances of health care institutions, has been named chief financial officer and senior vice president of White Plains Hospital, officials said Monday.
Guarracino, who spent the past eight years as senior vice president and CFO of Brooklyn Hospital Center, began his new role Monday. He was also previously the CFO for Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Putnam Hospital Center and Northern Dutchess Hospital under the Health Quest System.
Guarracino will now oversee all financial aspects of the 292-bed White Plains Hospital as well as its 12 satellite facilities. He replaces David Ho, who stepped down last month after nearly two years in the position.
“We are delighted to welcome Joe into the White Plains Hospital family,” said White Plains Hospital CEO Susan Fox. “As a seasoned executive with decades of experience in hospital financial and operational administration, his skills and expertise will be a valuable addition as we continue to expand our programs, services and facilities in Westchester.”
Guarracino holds both bachelor’s and masters degrees in business administration from Iona College and American Intercontinental University, and serves as an adjunct professor in the finance department at Iona College’s Hagan School of Business.
White Plains Hospital is a member of the Montefiore Health System, Inc.
