A Malibu, Calif.-based owner and operator of residential eating disorder treatment centers will open a Westchester County facility on Oct. 6.
Monte Nido and Affiliates Treatment Centers will operate the facility on a 10.8-acre estate at 100 S. Broadway in Irvington. According to a Realtor”™s listing, the main house on the property, a 9,125-square-foot structure built in 1939, has eight bedrooms and six full bathrooms. A subsidiary of Monte Nido and Affiliates purchased the property for $6.45 million, according to property records.
“Approximately 30 percent of Monte Nido’s client population in California has routinely consisted of individuals from Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts and New York. We wanted to give our East Coast clients and their families the opportunity to avail themselves of our services without having to travel across the country,” said Carolyn Costin, the company’s chief clinical officer, in a press release. “Our ultimate goal of offering a residential program in a beautiful, natural setting was realized when we found the perfect place in the historic area of Irvington.”
According to Monte Nido and Affiliates, New York does not have residential services for eating disorders and surrounding states offer very little residential treatment, particularly for adults.
Monte Nido and Affiliates operates residential eating disorder treatment facilities in Malibu, Calif., Agoura Hills, Calif., Eugene, Ore., and Medford, Mass. The company also operates partial hospitalization treatment centers in Brentwood, Calif., Portland, Ore., Eugene, Ore., and New York.
