Children”™s and Women”™s Physicians of Westchester L.L.P. has added Eastchester Pediatric Medical Group to its network of regional health care offices. Based at the Westchester Medical Center campus in Valhalla, CWPW now has 17 offices in the lower Hudson Valley and Connecticut.
The Eastchester group, which provides general pediatric medicine to infants, children and adolescents, has three staff physicians and six nursing and administrative staff at its 266 White Plains Road office. Dr. Jose Boyer founded the group practice in 1988.
“We”™ve been sending out patients to Westchester Medical Center for years, so it seemed to fall into place that we get together,” Boyer said in a joint announcement of the merger. He credited Dr. Leonard Newman, president and CEO of CWPW, and Dr. Michael H. Gewitz, CWPW vice president and chief of cardiology, with spearheading the consolidation. ?“They”™ve always said that they were interested in attracting more patients to CWPW and to Westchester Medical Center from the lower part of Westchester County,” Boyer said. He said the merger ensures that Eastchester patients needing a broad range of pediatric subspecialty care will not have to travel to New York or beyond for treatment.?“The addition of Eastchester Pediatric Associates adds yet another dimension to the broad range of pediatric services offered through CWPW,” Newman said in the joint statement.
