CVS Health has expanded its MinuteClinic Video Visits telehealth service to Connecticut.
The service, which is offered in collaboration with the virtual care provider Teladoc, enables patients seeking treatment for a minor illness, minor injury or a skin condition to be connected with a board-certified health care provider licensed in their state.
The health care provider will review a questionnaire completed by the patient and recommend treatment following evidence-based clinical care guidelines. The provider will also be able to submit prescriptions to the patient”™s pharmacy and, if needed, recommend that the patient visit either their primary care provider or a nearby MinuteClinic location for further treatment. CVS”™s Fairfield County MinuteClinics are located in Bethel, Riverside and Stratford.
A MinuteClinic Video Visit costs $59, which is payable by credit, debit, FSA and HSA cards; the company stated that insurance coverage will be added to the service later this year. MinuteClinic Video Visits was introduced in August 2018 and is now available in 26 states, although New York is not among the states where the service can be accessed.
