The number of Connecticut municipalities classified at the state”™s “red alert” level ”“ the highest of Connecticut”™s four Covid-19 alert levels ”“ now stands at 145, or about 81%, as the coronavirus continues its rebound nationwide.
According to the latest data from the Connecticut Department of Public Health, there have now been 99,187 positive cases detected here, out of nearly 2.9 million tests conducted. The positivity rate stands at 6.48%.
Statewide hospitalizations stand at 840, and there have been 4,805 confirmed Covid-related deaths. In Fairfield County, 248 people are in hospitals, and there have been 1,142 deaths.

The yellow zone indicates municipalities that have case rates between 5 and 9 per 100,000 population, and those indicated in gray have case rates lower than five per 100,000 population.
