Westchester County”™s Department of Senior Programs and Services is seeking proposals from businesses for senior citizen programs funded by the federal Older Americans Act.
County Executive Rob Astorino, a Republican, announced a bundle of requests for proposals Wednesday. The proposals, which will be due in November, will include bids for escort-assistant services, family caregiving and safety services.
“It is essential that the county provide quality services to seniors at competitive prices,” he said in a statement. “The RFP process enables us to do just that ”“ to easily compare various options and their costs.”
Here are examples of the services up for bid, according to the announcement.
- Escort-assistance services
- Family caregiver for Project Lifesaver program
- Family caregiver for Electronic Tracking System program
- Assistance for grandparents and relatives who are at least 55 and care for a grandchild up to age 18
- Guardianship
- Information and assistance
- Crime prevention
- Safety
- Administrating the Senior Community Service Employment Program for eligible people age 55 and older
