Two members of Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino”™s administration will trade positions, the executive”™s office announced Monday.
William M. Mooney III will be the new director of economic development for the county, and Eileen Mildenberger will be the new senior assistant to the county executive for government operations.
Astorino said in a statement he believed in “fostering opportunities” for members of his administration to grow and face new challenges. “And in their new roles, they will be doing both ”“ as we work together to continue moving Westchester forward,” he said.
Mooney will work with the Westchester County Industrial Development Agency and the Local Development Corp. and will also oversee the county”™s Office of Tourism and Film. Astorino”™s office said Mooney will be the go-to person for the administration”™s role in handing over the reins of county-owned Playland to a private management corporation, among other initiatives.
Mooney, formerly in private practice as an attorney, has been a member of the administration since 2010.
Mildenberger, who joined the Astorino administration in 2011 Â as executive director of the county IDA, will continue to help with “economic development strategies and initiatives,” the administration said.
Mildenberger spent 12 years at Empire State Development Corp., the state”™s chief development arm, including three years as chief operating officer of the 500-person agency.
