The village of Ossining appointed Abraham Zambrano as village manager effective May 27, the village announced on Tuesday.
Zambrano will take over for Richard Leins, who served the village for more than a decade and retired after a six-year tenure in the position.
As the village’s chief executive and administrative officer, Zambrano will be responsible for the daily operations of the village and its departments, including oversight of 171 full-time employees.
“We look forward to Abe’s leadership in furthering our goals of improving communication, government efficiency and a vibrant economy,” Victoria Gearity, mayor of the village, said in a statement. “The first three months of 2015 have been very productive and exciting for this board. But no single decision will have as great an impact on our local government as the selection of Abe Zambrano to be our next village manager.”
Zambrano was formerly the village manager of Croton-on-Hudson, a position he held since January 2008. Prior to being appointed to that position, Zambrano served as Croton”™s village treasurer/deputy manager and also previously worked for Ossining as well as the villages of Briarcliff Manor and Sleepy Hollow.
